SIFE team to compete in Duel in the Ozarks

Springfield, Mo. — Evangel University’s Students in Free Enterprise team will compete at the 2007 “Duel in the Ozarks,” a personal finance case study competition that will be hosted by Drury University Nov. 8-10.

They will receive a case study Thursday evening, Nov. 8, and will have 36 hours to develop and present a solution to a panel of corporate judges.

Five other universities are also competing.

Evangel’s SIFE team consists of Mike Fencil, senior accounting major from Livonia, Mich.; Brittany Johnson, senior management major from Colorado Springs, Colo.; Jesse Kramer, senior marketing major from Muskego, Wis.; and Megan VanderVlucht, junior marketing major from Perrysburg, Ohio.

Last year, Evangel competed in the 2006 Duel in the Ozarks and won 2nd place, earning $2,000 and a trophy for their efforts.

SIFE is a global, nonprofit organization that has student teams on more than 1,600 university campuses in 40 countries. SIFE offers these students the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise.
