Season Opener for Lady Crusaders and College of the Ozarks

The Lady Crusaders will play at College of the Ozarks on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in Pt. Lookout, Mo. The Lady Bobcats are ranked No. 1 in the nation on the NAIA II preseason poll. The game is the season opener for both squads.

Following their game at College of the Ozarks, the EU ladies will travel to Maryville, Mo., to participate in the Northwest Missouri State University Classic on Nov. 16-17. On Friday, Nov. 16, the Lady Crusaders will face host Northwest Missouri at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 17, EU will face off against Briar Cliff University (Iowa) at 2 p.m.

2006-07 Records

Evangel finished the 2006-07 season with an 8-21 record. The Lady Crusaders lost 61-47 at MidAmerica Nazarene in Olathe, Kans., in the first round of the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament.

The Lady Bobcats ended a spectacular 2006-07 season with a 34-3 record and advanced to the NAIA II national championship game, where they lost 48-34 to Indiana Wesleyan.

Series, EU vs. C of O

Evangel leads the series 26-22, however, College of the Ozarks has won the last four meetings and leads EU 12-10 in Keeter Gymnasium. Last year, C of O defeated Evangel 76-42 in Pt. Lookout and 73-53 in Springfield. The Evangel women’s last win against C of O was on Jan. 31, 2005 by a 63-49 score.

Coaches

Evangel is led by Leon Neal in his 14th year. During the past 13 seasons, Neal has put together a 291-145 record.

George Wilson is the head coach for the College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats. Wilson begins his 11th season with C of O in 2007-08 and has a 263-61 record.
