Springfield, Mo. — The Evangel University Chorus and Concert Choir will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, in Evangel’s chapel auditorium.
There is no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.
The 101-voice University Chorus will perform “Standing and Leaning” by Craig Curry; “The Candlelight Carol” by John Rutter; “Gloria Deo” by John Leavitt; and “Celtic Advent Carol” by David Angerman and Michael Barrett, which will also feature Celtic instrumental accompaniment.
Soloists Garrett Harper and Ruth Mushynski, both freshmen, and Heather Strange, junior, will be featured on “The Name of Jesus” by Craig Courtney. Devon Hagerla, senior, will be the featured soloist on “I Choose Jesus” by Robert Sterling.
The 42-voice Concert Choir will be singing two selections arranged by Mark Hayes. “Mighty Fortress” will feature brass and percussion accompaniment, and “I Surrender All” will feature soloist Chris McLellan, junior.
The Choir will also be singing “Keepers of the Faith” by Joseph Martin and “Joshua Fit De Battle of Jericho” by Howard Helvey, featuring four-hand piano accompaniment by Anna Wickham, sophomore, and Madison Pennington, senior.
Sharon Wilkins will conduct both choirs, and piano accompaniment will be provided by Madison Pennington.
