Springfield, Mo. — The Evangel University Archives and Klaude Kendrick Library will host the bimonthly meeting of the Springfield Area Archives Committee on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the library mezzanine. Visitors are welcome to attend.
The committee will discuss the O’Reilly Hospital and the archival holdings of Evangel University.
Former Evangel Archivist Betty Chase will be giving an overview of the holdings and a brief history of the O’Reilly General Hospital. Several Evangel speech students will be presenting excerpts, in a readers’ theatre format, from the oral histories Chase has recorded over the years.
The Springfield Area Archives Committee is made up of archivists from Southwest Missouri, including those from Missouri State University, Drury University, the Springfield-Greene County Public Library District, the Assemblies of God and the City of Springfield.
“Evangel is a participant in the larger community, and this event will raise awareness of the whole field of archival history,” said Evangel Archivist Shirley Shedd.
