Evangel University to honor student teachers during induction ceremony

Springfield, MO. — Evangel University will honor 28 seniors for completing their student teaching requirements during the semiannual Student Teacher Induction Ceremony and Reception at 4 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3, in the West Conference Room of the Joust.
Professors from the Education Department will host the celebration. Student teaching supervisors from other departments are invited to attend.
“Our faculty look forward to this time of celebration and welcoming our students into our profession of teaching,” said Dr. Becky Huechteman, education department chair. “All of the students have worked very hard to become professional educators and we want to acknowledge that they have come this far.”
This semester’s inductees are:

- Joshua Arnett, English education and journalism double major from Springfield, Mo.
- Julie Bartlett, art education major from Newburg, Mo.
- Kecia Boswell, music education major from Batesville, Ark.

- Elizabeth Coffman, Spanish education and music double major from Tulsa, Okla.
- Terrance Davis, social studies education major from Springfield, Mo.
- Jennifer Demattei, early childhood education major from Stockton, Calif.

- Lauren Hartzler, special education major from Pawleys Island, S.C.

Each of the student teachers will be presented with a small gift, and a reception will follow the ceremony.
Education majors must complete a semester of full-time student teaching in order to receive their degree.
