Springfield, Mo. — What began as an interviewing opportunity resulted in jobs for two Evangel alumnae this month.
Miyagi MeySen Academy, from Sendai-City, Japan, came to Evangel to interview candidates for their teaching program on Friday, Nov. 9, as part of the academy’s interviewing schedule in cities nationwide.
Evangel’s Career Development office hosted MeySen because several Evangel graduates and students applied for the positions.
“This so impressed them that they have established Evangel as one of their official interview locations,” said Scott Kirby, LifeWorks Recruitment Program Coordinator.
Two from Evangel were hired to become teachers at MeySen: Sarah King, senior early childhood education major from Holland Ohio; and Sara Beeler, 2007 graduate from LaVergne, Tenn.
Miyagi MeySen Academy is one of Japan’s premiere elementary educational institutions specializing in early childhood development and English as a Foreign Language.
LifeWorks: Evangel’s Center for Leadership and Life Calling, is a campuswide initiative created to help students explore ways in which their faith bears on their career, life goals and daily practices.
