Dustin Hampton Signs to Play on the 2008 Evangel Baseball Team

Evangel head baseball coach has announced the signing of Dustin Hampton to the 2008 Crusader baseball team. Hampton (6-2, 185) is currently a senior pitcher and outfielder at Festus (Mo.) High School.

As a junior, Hampton logged a 2.86 ERA, which was the second lowest on the team. He worked eight games, registered 10 strikeouts and just two walks, and helped pitch Festus to the district championship game in 2007. As a student-athlete, Hampton has been named a Scholar Athlete the past three seasons.

During the summer of 2007, Hampton was named to the all-star team of the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association and was also honored as the MVP. In addition, he was selected as a member of the Triple Crown Showcase all-star team in Omaha, Neb.
