Lady Crusaders’ Notes
- Brianna Mingus leads the conference in free throw shooting (.875, 42- 48) and is ranked No. 6 in NAIA II. She has had perfect accuracy in nine games and had a 9 for 10 game vs. Missouri Valley on Jan. 12. The miss ended a streak of 29 straight.
- Kelsie Hargus has made 13 straight free throws, beginning with two in the second half of the Avila game on Dec. 6.
- Since joining the team four games ago, Tag Morris has led EU’s rebound with a 4.5 average and has led in steals with a 1.8 average.
- Caitlin Russell has averaged a team-best 10.7 points per game over the last four contests, including a season-best 14 vs. Missouri Valley and 13 against Baker. She is also ranked No. 7 (tied) in HAAC 3- pointers made with a 1.44 average.

Culver-Stockton on Jan. 7, Central
Methodist’s ladies have lost four in a
row. One of the loses was by two
points (66-64) at William Jewell (No.
14 in NAIA II at the time). - One of Central Methodist’s four wins this season was against Evangel in Fayette, Mo., on Nov. 29 by a 75-66 score.
- Central Methodist has three players from Springfield. They are Megan Hirsch (5-5, So., G, Catholic), Stephanie Todd (5-5, Fr., G, Glendale), and Holly Wade (5-10, Sr., F, Kickapoo).
- Holly Wade ranks No. 4 in HAAC scoring with a 16.2 average and Danielle Boraz is No. 7 at 15.3.
- Boraz and Wade rank No. 4 and 5, respectively in conference field goal pct. (.485 and .460).
The Series, EU vs. CMU
The Lady Crusaders have a 41- 23 overall lead in the series with Central Methodist. Evangel had won 12 in a row (eight at home) Prior to CMU’s 58-55 win in Springfield last season (Nov. 16).
Most Recent Meeting
Evangel traveled to Fayette, Mo. and Central Methodist handed the Lady Crusaders a 75-66 loss.
Evangel led 38-32 at the half, but
couldn’t hold off CMU in the second
half (43-28). With its inside game
working well, Central Methodist
made 55.3 percent of its field goals,
shooting just seven 3-pointers and making one. At the line, CMU hit 22 of
34 for a 64.7 percentage. Evangel,
meanwhile, bombed away from
outside and made 33.3 percent of its
efforts (7-21) and finished with a 38.7
field goal percentage (.415 on 2-
pointers). CMU controlled the
rebounding, 40-30.
Evangel’s scoring was led by the
23 points from Brianna Mingus.
Mingus made 8 of 13 from the field,
including 5 of 8 3-pointers, hit both of
her free throws. Kelsie Hargus also
scored in double figures, totaling 10
points. Kate Prentice came off the
bench to top EU’s rebounding with
nine caroms.
Central Methodist had three
players scoring in double digits.
Danielle Boraz scored 23 points, Holly
Wade had 18 and Stephanie Todd
chipped in 13 points. Boraz finished
with a double-double, grabbing 11
rebounds to go with her 23 points.
