EU Coach Gets 300

Series Record

Evangel leads the series 26-8 and had won the last 13 games before dropping a 73-68 decision in St. Charles during the 2006-07 season. On Jan. 10 of this season, Lindenwood won 66- 62 at Evangel.

At Lindenwood, Evangel leads 11-5. EU had a 6-game winning streak at Lindenwood, prior to the Lions’ 73-68 win last season (1-6-07).

WBCA’s “Think Pink” Campaign

Over 900 school have signed up to participate in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) “Think Pink” fight against breast cancer campaign. The next three Lady Crusaders’ games will be part of the “Think Pink” event that runs from Feb. 8-17 (Feb. 9 at home vs. Graceland, Feb. 14 at Lindenwood, and Feb. 16 home vs. Missouri Valley.)

At the home games in EU’s Ashcroft Center, both ticket tables will have place for donations. All donations will be used to aid in the
research for finding a cure for breast cancer.

Evangel, Feb. 9

The Lady Crusaders picked up their ninth win of the season - sixth in the conference - as they defeated Lindenwood, 79-52, at home on Feb. 9.

Caitlin Russell and Whitney Pollard came off the bench to lead Evangel with 18 and 15 points, respectively. Pollard also had four rebounds, four assists and a steal. Pollard made 6 of 7 from the field and 3 of 4 from the line. Russell had a pair of steals, three rebounds and made 4 of 6 from 3-point range. Brianna Mingus also scored in double figures with 13 points. Melissa Hogan and Tag Morris each had five rebounds.

Graceland was led by Kristin Osborn’s 14 points. Cassie Butler led the Graceland leapers with five rebounds.

EU had the edge in field goal percentage (50.0 to 37.2), 3-point field goal percentage (50.0, 10-20 to 17.6, 3- 17) and at the line (76.5, 13-17 to 53.1, 17-32). The EU ladies also controlled the boards, 41-23. EU’s bench outscored LU’s bench, 59-14.

Lindenwood, Feb. 9

The Lady Lions traveled to No. 17-ranked William Jewell on Feb. 9 and lost 73-57. Both teams committed 60 turnovers (38 LU, 22 WJ) and Lindenwood led the rebounding 34-25. William Jewell built a 35-22 halftime lead, which helped with the final score and Lindenwood only scored three points less that William Jewell in the second half (38-35). William Jewell’s bench also contributed, outscoring Lindenwood’s bench, 30-7.

Lindenwood’s scoring and rebounding were led by Gabriella Green. She had 16 points and seven rebounds. Crystal Castillo added 14 points and Natalie Hooss had 12.
