Springfield, Mo. — Evangel graduate Kelly McLeland (2006) recently learned that the Journal of Psychology and Theology will publish a study of attitudes completed as part of her thesis research.
In her study, people in area churches indicated their attitudes toward people with various needs. In general, people saw themselves as more caring than other small groups. The respondents did not appear to discriminate against people with a mental illness.
McLeland is currently working toward a doctorate in clinical psychology at Regent University. This is the third article she has published based on research at Evangel University.
The article was coauthored with her thesis supervisor, Dr. Geoffrey W. Sutton, who has authored more than 30 publications, many of which are with Evangel students.
