Springfield, Mo. — “A View Behind Prison Walls,” will be on display in the Barnett Fine Art and Design Gallery at Evangel University March 10-31, 2008, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

There is no charge, and the public is invited to attend.

This 50-piece collection, consisting of both drawings and photography, is the work of inmates at the Onondaga County New York Correctional Facility.

“Such an opportunity for the incarcerated parallels the growth of a beautiful flower in the midst of an otherwise poison garden,” said Robert Reed, chaplain at the Onondaga facility for more than 20 years. “When one considers that they have little to work with and the way they have invested their time, it is even more eventful.”

Reed, who now resides in Ozark, Mo., put the exhibit together.
