Springfield, Mo. — Evangel University will host more than 600 guests from across the country this weekend for EU:24, an exciting new recruitment experience, beginning at noon on Friday, March 14.

“We are offering prospective students an opportunity to experience a 24-hour immersion into college life,” said Cheri Meyer, director of admissions.

Students from Oregon to Virginia and 25 states in between are registered so far, according to Meyer.

“While here, they will tour the campus, explore more than 100 academic programs, learn about the variety of opportunities available, interact with other EU students and faculty, eat in the cafeteria, and spend the night in residence halls,” she said.

Concert highlight

The highlight of EU:24 will be a major Christian rock concert in Evangel’s chapel auditorium, Friday night.

The “Cross the Line Tour,” featuring Superchick, Disciple, KJ-52, Britt Nicole and Starlit Platoon, will begin at 8:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door, $8 for the public and $5 for Evangel students.

The evening activities actually start at 6:30 with a contemporary worship service led by The Anthem, a band from Kansas City, Mo., and a challenging message from Scotty Gibbons, director of Realife Student Ministries at James River Assembly in Ozark, Mo.

Evangel is partnering with Darin Poe, district youth director for the Southern Missouri District of the Assemblies of God, to promote this event to local youth groups.

EU:24 replaces the semiannual Crusader Days. “Our goal is to create one enormous event with energy and excellence, showcasing opportunities at Evangel to youth groups that attend,” said Andy Denton, vice president for enrollment management.
