Women’s Golf Team Finishes Fourth at Lyon Invite, Hull Takes Second

Led by senior Lindsay Hull, the 2008 Evangel women’s golf team finished fourth at the Lyon College Piper Invitational in Batesville, Ark. The event was held at The Course at Eagle Mountain on Mar. 17.

Hull was just four strokes off the pace, finishing in second place with an 85. William Woods golfer Ceanne Kressig won the tournament with an 81. Rody Long, a freshman at Evangel, placed 15th (97) and sophomore Mallory Baumhoer was 17th (99). Other EU players gaining valuable experience were freshmen Jill Marquart (115, 30th tie) and Katie Jones (122, 34th tie).

The Evangel women’s next tournament is on Mar. 31-Apr. 1 at the William Woods University Invitational. The tournament will be played on the Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Mo., and begins at 9 a.m. The 2008 Evangel team will play five tournaments and the HAAC/Region V Tournament under the guidance of first-year head coach Steve Kerstin.
