Springfield, Mo. — Renowned opera tenor Larry Wayne Morbitt will be performing an Artist Series concert at Evangel University Thursday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall.
The concert is free and open to the public.
Morbitt currently plays the role of Ubaldo Piangi in the Las Vegas production of “The Phantom of the Opera.” For the past seven and a half years, he played the same role on Broadway and prior to that in the European production.
The diverse program includes classical selections, Broadway music and contemporary Christian pieces. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Larry Dalton, Steinway piano artist, and Dr. Linda Ligate, professor of music at Evangel.
In addition, Morbitt will conduct a voice master class at 4:30 p.m., Monday, April 7, in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall. It is open to the public.
He will also be singing in a chapel service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 8.
