Springfield, Mo. — Evangel professor Dr. Geoffrey W. Sutton published a reflection on Rwanda and the process of Forgiveness and Reconciliation. The article will appear this summer in the Journal of Pastoral Care and Counseling.
In his story he comments on the amazing story of forgiveness and reconciliation recounted by Immaculée Ilibagiza in her Oct. 1, 2007, presentation at Evangel University and in her book, Left to Tell. He also comments on the reconciliation videography of Patrick Mureithi.
Sutton, a 1972 Evangel graduate, completed his Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia (1981). He has taught at Evangel since 2001. Dr. Sutton conducts research on forgiveness and other virtues and is the author of more than 30 publications.
Sutton’s 2008 article is titled Rwanda Remembered: Three Faces of Forgiveness and Reconciliation.
