Springfield, Mo. — Evangel University’s Small Ensembles will perform a concert Thursday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall.
There is no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.
The program will include performances from the Brass Ensemble, Concert Bells, Woodwind Ensemble and String Ensemble.
The Brass Ensemble, directed by Tim Wootton, will perform Fanfare to La Péri by Paul Dukas and O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Lauridsen.
The Concert Bells, directed by Beth McLellan, will perform Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoke by Haydn-McKechnie, with a trumpet solo by Wootton, and Just a Closer Walk with Thee by Bruce Greer, with clarinet solo by McLellan.
The Woodwind Ensemble, also directed by Beth McLellan, will perform Scherzo (Moto Perpetuo) — a hymn medley of To God be the Glory and Oh Worship the King by Richard Heffler and Suite for Seven by Ronald Hanmer.
The String Ensemble, directed by Dr. Larry Dissmore, will be performing three movements from Brook Green Suite by Gustav Holst.
