Senior outfielder Stef Beaverson of Evangel has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference softball player of the week. Beaverson hit at a .500 pace (10-20) during the week of April 20-26. She also had one double, one triple and three home runs to finish EU’s 4-2 week with a 1.100 slugging average. The Lewisberry, Pa., product scored seven runs, drew two walks and had 12 RBIs. The honor is the second of the year for Beaverson, who earned the same honor on Mar. 31.
Evangel (23-13, 14-4 HAAC) will finish its regular season on Saturday, April 26, at home against Culver-Stockton. The conference doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. on the Evangel field. The Lady Crusaders will then play in the conference tournament on May 2-3. The tourney will be held at Springfield’s Meador.
