Beaverson Collects Second Region Honor

It was announced today that Evangel’s Stef Beaverson has been named the NAIA Region V player of the week. Earlier this week the senior outfielder earned Heart of America Athletic Conference player of the week honors. Beaverson was also the recipient of both honors on Mar. 31 this season.Beaverson, who hails from Lewisberry, Pa., collected 10 hits in 20 at bats for a .500 batting average. She also drove in 12 runs and scored seven times. Five of Beaverson’s 10 hits were for extra bases. She had one double, one triple and three home runs to post a 1.100 slugging average.

The Lady Crusaders were 4-2 last week and are currently 23-13 overall. With a 14-4 conference mark, the EU women are in the hunt for their ninth conference championship and their fifth title in a row.

On Saturday, April 26, head coach Jerry Breaux’s team will finish its regular season with a 2 p.m. conference doubleheader against Culver-Stockton. The conference tournament follows on May 2-3 at Springfield’s Meador Park.
