Students attend international conference in Boston

Students and faculty in BostonSpringfield, Mo. — Five Evangel special education students attended the Council for Exceptional Children International conference in Boston, this month.

The students were able to choose from more than 500 workshops on various topics that concern teachers of special need students.

“We added to our knowledge base about teaching special kids and listened to presentations of current research in our specialty,” said Dr. Joan Cargnel, professor of education and graduate studies.

Dr. Cargnel and Randy Byers, assistant professor of education, accompanied the students on the trip. This is the first time students have attended the CEC International conference.

The event was sponsored by LifeWorks, Evangel’s center for leadership and life calling.
