Student media win awards from SCJ

Springfield, Mo. — Evangel’s student media won a total of 13 awards from the national 2008 Society for Collegiate Journalists Contest.

ECTV

Evangel’s television station, ECTV, competed in Division 3 and won three awards. Dr. Cameron Pace, professor of communication and chairman of the communication department, is the faculty adviser.

Excalibur

Evangel’s yearbook, Excalibur, also competed in Division 3 and received six awards. Alumna Kara Chase was editor of the submitted yearbook, and Nancy Pace-Miller, assistant professor of communication, is adviser to the yearbook.

The Lance

Evangel’s student newspaper, The Lance, also competed in Division 3 and received four awards. Entries submitted were from the spring 2007 and fall 2007 semesters. Alumna Brittany (Breidenbach) Carlson was editor in the spring, and senior Holly Bass was editor in the fall. Melinda Booze, assistant professor of communication, is adviser to the newspaper.
