Springfield, Mo. — Dr. Bud Greve, professor of education, is the 2008 recipient of Evangel University’s E.M. & Estella Clark Award for Excellence in Teaching, Scholarship and Service.
The award, which includes a framed certificate and cash grant, will be presented Friday, May 2, during Evangel’s commencement ceremony.
“It’s extremely exciting and humbling,” Greve said of receiving the award. “I know the large number of very effective professors here, so it’s humbling to be considered with that group of past recipients.”
Greve joined the Evangel faculty in 1999, after retiring as superintendent of the Springfield Public School system. He now teaches courses in Education for both graduate and undergraduate students at Evangel.
Greve is an active member of the Springfield community. He is currently serving on the board and is past president of the Community Partnership of the Ozarks, is a former member and past president of the Child Advocacy Council, and is a former member of the United Way of the Ozarks as well as part of the United Way Campaign Leadership. He is also a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Springfield.
The Clark Award was established in 1991 by Dan and Elaine Johnson, in recognition of her parents’ work on behalf of higher education in the Assemblies of God. Students, faculty and staff nominate recipients of this award and a committee makes the final decision.
