Springfield, Mo. — Dr. Wave Nunnally, professor of early Judaism and Christian origins at Evangel University, received a second place 2008 Higher Goals award at the Evangelical Press Association’s annual convention held May 7-9 in Portland, Ore.

Published in Enrichment journal, Nunnally’s article, “The Sins of Generational Curse,” examines the question of whether or not God holds people responsible for the sins of their ancestors and if there is an additional step of deliverance required for such sin apart from what was provided through the sacrifice of Jesus.

“Receiving this award was both surprising and gratifying,” said Dr. Nunnally. “Surprising because it is the publishers who submit their best articles to the competition, and I didn’t know mine had been submitted; gratifying because writing is hard work that seldom receives such recognition.”

The article was entered in the Biblical Exposition category of the competition. This was a Higher Goals Award, which is the second major area of awards presented at the convention.

“Judges are top-notch and competition is pretty stiff,” said Richard Schoonover, associate editor of Enrichment journal. “There were 34 entries in this category. To walk away with a second place is quite an honor.”

Evangelical Press Association has more than 300 member publications. More than 1,100 entries were submitted for judging in various categories for the 2008 EPA Convention.
