Springfield, Mo. — Michael Buesking, associate professor of art at Evangel University, will serve as one of two artists-in-residence at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, Mo., from Aug. 13-17.
Buesking is contracted for the second week of the fair and will be working on paintings and drawings in the studio area of the Fine Art Building.
“I feel as though the hard work I put into my M.F.A. thesis exhibition in 2002 is still paying off,” Buesking said. “This year’s state fair superintendent had seen my exhibit and read the paper that I wrote to accompany the show. She is the one who recommended me to the committee in charge of choosing artists this year.”
Buesking joined the faculty at Evangel in 1991, where he teaches oil painting classes and organizes art history instruction. He earned his M.F.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
