Springfield, Mo. — Ten Evangel University students attended the Festival of Faith and Writing at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., April 17-19.
They traveled with Dr. Diane Awbrey, associate professor of English; Dr. Nathan Nelson and Dr. Jim Edwards, both professors of English; and Professor Emeritus Twila Edwards.
Calvin College hosts the biennial Festival of Faith and Writing to provide a forum for the discussion and celebration of faith represented in literature.
“Before I went to this conference, I saw the need for writers in the social work profession but couldn’t admit that perhaps I might be part of the answer to that need,” said Tristen Roberts, sophomore social work major from Tyler, Texas. “This conference gave me a sense of who I am, an idea of my place in the field of writing, and a vague but possible trajectory for my life as a writer and a social worker.”
