Clear Channel Communications’ ESPN Radio to continue broadcasts

For the seventh straight season, Clear Channel Communications of Springfield and Evangel University have signed an agreement to broadcast Evangel football and basketball games on ESPN Radio 1400 AM (KGMY) through the 2008-09 season. All football, men’s and women’s basketball games will be covered on the all-sports station. The agreement also contains options for two additional seasons of coverage following 2008-09.
As he has the past seven seasons, Ed Beach, Evangel’s director of broadcasting and marketing for athletics, will handle the play-by-play duties.
The first date on the broadcast schedule is Saturday, Sept. 6. The Crusader football team will host William Jewell College at JFK Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
