Stef Beaverson, a senior outfielder from Lewisberry, Pa., has been honored as an NAIA softball All-America second team pick. A walkon as a freshman, Beaverson also was voted the player of the year for both the Heart of America Athletic Conference and NAIA Region V. She hit at a .412 pace (61-148), scored 43 runs, drove in 47 runs, and belted seven doubles, four triples and 12 home runs.

The 2008 Lady Crusaders celebrated the 20th anniversary of Evangel softball with another banner season. Under the direction of head coach Jerry Breaux, who began his 15th year in 2008, Evangel won its ninth Heart of America Athletic Conference championship - the most by any EU team - and its fifth straight title. Breaux’s team also advanced to the NAIA Region V Tournament for the ninth overall and fifth consecutive season, finishing with a 28-18 record.
