Campbell Honored with Distinguished Service Award

Marilyn CampbellSPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Marilyn Campbell, administrative assistant in the Business and Economics Department at Evangel University, will be honored with a Distinguished Service Award on Friday, October 10, 2008, during Evangel’s homecoming celebration.

Affectionately known as the “resume expert,” Marilyn is always willing to help senior business majors perfect their written image to employers.

“Marilyn has demonstrated ‘customer orientation’ by placing top priority on the needs of students for 32 years,” said Elizabeth Fletcher, chair of the Business and Economics Department.

She was hired in 1976 and served as the Communication Department secretary until 1981, when she transferred to the Business and Economics Department as the administrative assistant. 

“Once I worked alongside Marilyn as a work-study student,” Fletcher said. “Now I count it a privilege to work alongside her as department chair.”

Marilyn enjoys her four grandchildren who “provide entertainment and add joy to my life.” She also enjoys reading mysteries, collecting antique glassware, traveling, fishing and hiking
