Evangel University Athletics, the Assemblies of God Credit Union and News-Talk Radio KSGF will present the second annual Military Appreciation Day for the Crusaders home football game on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Active and retired military and their families will be admitted free to the 1:30 p.m. game against Culver-Stockton College when they present a military I.D. at the ticket window. All seating at Kennedy Stadium is general admission.
The game will also feature former U.S. Army Infantry Team Leader Brian C. Fleming. Fleming was awarded a Purple Heart and was medically discharged from the military after sustaining severe injuries when a suicide bomber attacked his vehicle on July 24, 2006. After 14 months of rehabilitation and receiving his medical discharge from the U.S. Army, he received training from evangelist Dave Roever at Eagle’s Summit Ranch in Colorado. Roever’s facility was the focal point of last year’s football promotion and recommended Fleming for this year’s event.
Fleming has since launched his own ministry as well as working as a motivational speaker throughout the country. He will be the featured speaker at Evangel’s Chapel service on Friday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. and appear as a guest on the Vincent David Jericho radio program on station KSGF (104.1 FM and 1260 AM) that will air from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. earlier that same morning.
Fleming is the author of, A Life Worth Living, The God Who Was There, and the forthcoming Never the Same (One Soldier’s Story of Tragedy and Triumph in the Fight Against Radical Islam). He is a recent graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University and now resides in Pueblo, Colorado. Additional information about him and is organization can be found at www.briancfleming.com.
