Springfield, Mo — Fourteen members of Evangel’s chapter of the Christian Prelaw Society and faculty adviser Dr. Bryan Sanders traveled to Jefferson City on Wednesday, April 8, to visit the Missouri Supreme Court.

The students observed oral argument before the court sitting en banc, took a tour of the courthouse, met with Missouri Supreme Court Judge Mary Russell and visited with two law clerks.

“We had the opportunity to sit in on three cases, including a death penalty case, argued before the court,” Sanders said. “We appreciate Judge Russell for her gracious invitation to our students.”

The following students participated in the trip:

“We were thrilled for the opportunity to meet with Judge Russell and experience the justice system at the highest state level,” said Prelaw Society President-elect Kelisen Molloy.

The Christian Prelaw Society is an organization designed for prelaw students to develop their professional life through discussions of law from a biblical perspective. Members discuss current events, learn tips for preparing for the LSAT, and share information about preparing for law school.
