Kodály Musicianship/Solfége Certification Classes Offered at Evangel

Springfield, Mo — Evangel University’s Graduate Studies program, in conjunction with the Department of Music, is offering a summer certification course in Kodály Musicianship/Solfége Levels I - III.

Each course will be offered in consecutive summers to complete certification. This summer’s session will be held June 29 to July 10, 2009, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Barnett Fine Arts Building.

Students wishing to take the course can be admitted into Evangel University under “Special Admit” status, a non-degree seeker at Evangel University. The course is offered as both a noncredit or graduate credit course, three credits per course.

The course will include ear training, part work, and sight singing with solfége in pentatonic and diatonic scales. The student will be able to complete one level per two-week course, one per summer session.

Tuition for the class is $575 with a $150 additional fee for graduate credit.
