A cappella vocal band featured in Evangel’s homecoming concert

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The hottest a cappella vocal band in Christian music, Praise-Apella, will be performing at Evangel University’s Homecoming Concert, Friday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m., in the Chapel Auditorium.

Praise-Apella imitates instrumentation through voice, creating a band without instruments.

“Their tight harmonies, coupled with vocal percussion and bass, are amazing,” said Paul K. Logsdon, Evangel spokesman.

The group has performed with major Contemporary Christian recording artists such as Michael W. Smith, AVALON, Natalie Grant, Brandon Heath, Leeland, The Katinas, Superchick and ZOEgirl.

“This is their first concert in the Springfield area,” said Logsdon.

“We recommend a visit to their Web site at www.praise-apella.com for samples of their music and an introductory video,” he added.

Ticket information

Advance tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children and students with ID. Adults will be $10 at the door.

For groups, Evangel is offering two FREE tickets with the purchase of 10 or more in advance, by calling the Alumni Office at (417) 865-2815 ext. 7333.

Tickets may be purchased at Christian Publishers Outlet, Redeemed Bookstore, Evangel’s bookstore in the Cantrell Student Union, in the Alumni Office (3rd floor in Riggs Hall across from elevator), or online.
