SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Dr. Larry Toll, associate professor of history at Evangel University, will be presenting a program titled “What is Living History? Effective Use of Living History Interpretation at Historic Sites” this Saturday, Oct. 3, at a symposium sponsored by Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield.
The symposium, titled “History Alive: Living History at National Parks,” will be held in the Wilson’s Creek Visitors Center. There is no charge for admission.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., volunteers who utilize living history interpretation at various national parks in the region will have encampments set up in the Visitors Center. From 1-3 p.m., three speakers will be making presentations. Dr. Toll will be the first presenter.
Toll will also have a display set up outside the Visitors Center. The display will showcase clothing and equipment that he utilizes at historic sites as well as for the Royal Rangers Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship of the Assemblies of God.
