SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Bernie Dana, associate professor of business at Evangel University, presented a two-hour professional development seminar titled “Effective Decision Making and Problem Solving Skills” on Monday, Oct. 5, at the 60th annual American Health Care Association Convention in Chicago.

The American Health Care Association represents nearly 11,000 nonprofit and proprietary skilled nursing and assisted living organizations throughout the United States.

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Dana will participate in presenting 432 organizations with quality awards during the convention.

Dana chairs the Board of Overseers for ACHA’s National Quality Award Program. The awards represent three different levels of quality achievement and are modeled after the requirements of the Baldrige National Quality Award program.

Dana is nationally recognized for his expertise in the areas of leadership and quality improvement in long-term care. He was an executive and consultant in the long-term care profession for 28 years before joining the Evangel faculty in 2001. He has also conducted research and authored numerous articles and a book on these topics. Dana holds a Master of Quality Management degree from Loyola University-New Orleans.
