Additional information about the soloist

Chanelle Arneson, daughter of the Rev. Darrell and Sharon Arneson of Brooks, Ore., is the sixth of seven siblings, who all play the piano. Her father is senior pastor of Brooks Assembly of God, and her mother started all of her children in piano lessons at an early age. Chanelle began playing the piano at age five and by the age of eight, she was practicing three hours a day.

She has participated in and won numerous piano competitions in the state of Oregon. She has also been a participant in the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival, placing in the Top Ten for six consecutive years, 2001-2006, and in 2007 received the National Award of Merit for Keyboard Solo in this competition.

As an Evangel student, Chanelle has been in several piano competitions in Missouri. Last November, she took first place in the Missouri Music Teachers Association State Competition, Collegiate Piano Lower Division.

After graduation in 2011, Chanelle plans to pursue a master’s degree in piano pedagogy.
