Springfield, Mo — The Evangel University Music Department will present its annual Christmas Concert at 7:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in the Chapel Auditorium.

Admission to the concert is the donation of nonperishable food items or cash to benefit Ozarks Food Harvest. The public is invited to attend.

Award-winning KY3 news anchor Steve Grant and Stormteam meteorologist Brandon Beck, both Evangel alumni, will serve as hosts.

“It will be a fun and enjoyable evening,” says Dr. Michael Kolstad, music department chair. “It is also an opportunity to raise awareness, food, and money for an important charity.”

The 85-minute program will include performances by Evangel University’s Symphonic Orchestra, Chorale and Chorus, Jazz Band, and Madrigal Singers. The New Covenant Academy Choir, under the direction of alumna Dr. Vickie Wisdom, will also be performing.

David Smith, director of theatre arts at Evangel, will share the story of the miracle of Christmas, as told by a shepherd.

“We are excited about the opportunity to assist the local community through this special concert,” Kolstad said. “Throughout the years, we have donated several tons of food for Ozarks Food Harvest and hope that this will be our biggest year yet.”

Ozarks Food Harvest collects and distributes more than five million pounds of food annually to a network of more than 350 hunger relief agencies across 29 counties in southwest Missouri. It also offers direct relief through its Kids Cafe, Weekend Backpack Program, Club F.U.N. and Mobile Food Pantry programs. For more information about The Food Bank, visit www.ozarksfoodharvest.org.
