Springfield, Mo — Evangel’s SIFE team (Students in Free Enterprise student business organization) will be working with the Campbell Soup Company in their “Let’s Can Hunger” initiative.

“Let’s Can Hunger” challenges SIFE teams to create projects that tackle hunger problems with three goals: raising awareness about hunger relief, satisfying immediate hunger needs in local communities and implementing long-term solutions that help hunger victims address the cause behind their needs.

“In a time when the negative impact of the economy focuses attention on the self, our goal is to encourage the community to be attentive of those around us who need help and then take action,” stated Elizabeth Fletcher, SIFE sponsor and chair of the Business Department.

The yearlong initiative began last spring at the SIFE regional competitions around the world and will conclude this spring with all the SIFE teams reporting their collective results.

Throughout the year, SIFE will continue to partner with various organizations such as Convoy of Hope to help alleviate hunger in the Ozarks.

Campus participation with annual Christmas Concert

As a part of “Let’s Can Hunger,” SIFE will be partnering with the Music Department in marketing the annual Christmas concert and will be promoting the collection of canned goods for the Ozarks Food Harvest.

The concert will be held at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, in the Chapel. Admission to the concert will be a donation of nonperishable food items or cash, which will benefit local families in the Ozarks.
