Springfield, Mo — Evangel University will be hosting the Parkview High School student Cabinet for strengths-based leadership development on Monday, March 1, from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

Dr. Alina Lehnert, associate director of leadership and strengths development at Evangel, will be leading the session in which students will learn how to discover and capitalize upon their strengths, using the Strengths Finder material.

Lehnert conducted strengths-based training last year for area teachers involved with the LIFT program (Leadership Is For Teachers). LIFT is a collaborative effort between the Springfield Public Schools, Leadership Springfield and Missouri State University.

“I met the Cabinet advisers from Kickapoo and Parkview at that time,” she said. “We hosted Kickapoo last fall and had a great response. We are excited to host Parkview this spring.”

Lehnert earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Evangel University in 1997. She also holds a Master of Science in counseling from Missouri State University, a Doctor of Philosophy in organizational leadership from Regent University, and she is a licensed professional counselor. Dr. Lehnert is an assistant professor of organizational leadership and has taught at Evangel since 2002.
