Springfield, Mo — Evangel University has received notification from the Council on Social Work Education that accreditation for its Social Work Program has been reaffirmed for eight years, ending February 2018. Lacey Nunnally is director of Evangel’s Social Work Program.
“We are pleased to receive notice of CSWE reaffirmation and thank partnering community agencies for their support of the program,” Nunnally said.
Established in 1982 and initially accredited in 1998, the program is designed to prepare students for graduate studies and provide the background needed to serve in social service careers.
Accreditation enhances the employment and graduate school opportunities for the program’s graduates, since many state and federal social work agencies require their employees to have graduated from a CSWE-accredited program.
Evangel is also accredited by the North Central Associations of Colleges and Schools, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education and the National Association of Schools of Music. In addition, the University is recognized by the Missouri State Department of Education to grant state teacher certification.
