Springfield, Mo — Three Evangel University students earned top awards, including Missouri State Champion, at the 2010 Missouri Association of Forensics Activities State Tournament, held Feb. 19 and 20, 2010, at Webster University in St. Louis.
Dr. Mark Kelton, associate professor of communication, led the team.
Eighteen colleges and universities participated in the tournament, and the following Evangel students won awards:
Other members of the Evangel forensics team who attended the tournament are sophomore Christopher Orr, psychology and communication studies double major from Fair Grove, Mo.; and juniors Laurisha Cotton, communication studies major from Fort Meade, Md.; Elise Hartman, communication studies major from Battle Creek, Mich.; Amanda Holloway, biology major from Brownwood, Texas; Zach Kidder, film major from Sheboygen, Wis.; Sara Perez, communication studies major from Newark, Calif.; and Alyseia Smith, advertising/public relations major from Rockford, Ill.
Dr. Kelton has served as vice president of MAFA this year and will be president next year.
