Springfield, Mo — Thirteen Evangel University students and Dr. Bryan Sanders, professor of government and legal studies, are traveling to Washington, D.C., March 3-12 to participate in the university’s annual Washington Studies Program.
During the first week, the students will tour various government offices such as the U.S. Capitol building and the Diplomatic Reception rooms of the State Department. They will also meet with various government officials, including Evangel graduate and Kansas Congressman Todd Tiahrt.
The second week of the trip will involve a brief internship in the offices of congressmen, senators or public interest groups, introducing the students to a “behind the scenes” view of life in Washington, D.C. In order to earn the three class credits that the program offers, students must complete additional research and readings.
Evangel’s Washington Studies/Internship Program began in 1958.
