Students attend Air Force Academy Symposium

Springfield, Mo — Three Evangel University students and Associate Professor/retired USAF Lt. Col. Dale Garrett were privileged to attend the 17th annual National Character and Leadership Symposium Feb. 17-20 at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.

A limited number of students who possess outstanding characteristics in leadership, commitment, and spiritual vitality were selected from choice universities across the country to engage in dialogue with USAF cadets during a three-day period. They attended seminars with some of the most highly sought after speakers in the world today.

Melissa Hogan, senior accounting major from Ozark, Mo.; Philicia Douglas, senior social studies education major from Erhard, Minn.; and David Mansfield, freshman social studies education major from Farmington, Mich., were selected from Evangel this year.

The annual National Character and Leadership Symposium, one of the premier national symposiums in the area of character development, brings together distinguished scholars, armed forces leaders, corporate presidents and others to explore various dimensions of character and leadership.
