Springfield, Mo — Students in Evangel University’s Teaching Science and Social Studies in Elementary class will be partnering with Lifeworks to support Disney Elementary School’s “Night at the Museum” event on Thursday, March 4.

Forty-five fifth grade students at Disney have researched and created reports on famous Americans. With the goal of “making history come alive,” the students have prepared speeches and will be acting out their famous person, in costume, as a fundraiser.

Evangel students will eat dinner with the children, help with practicing, stand in as doubles when needed, assist with clean up and help count funds raised.

“This event is an exciting opportunity to serve and support a school in our community while learning a great way for our education majors to incorporate history into lesson plans,” says Debra Yonke, associate professor of education.
