Springfield, Mo — The Mark Thallander Foundation has released the official CD of the Festival of Faith, and 50 percent of all CD sales will be donated to the Evangel University Music Department.
The CD was recorded live Oct. 25, 2009, when the Festival of Faith: A Celebration of Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs was performed at Evangel University. The Mark Thallander Foundation and the Evangel University Music Department co-hosted the event.
Featuring the artistry and musical talent of some of the eminent leaders in choral and church music today, the CD includes special guests such as acclaimed conductor Weston Noble, festival music director Eric Dale Knapp and Frederick Swann, festival organist and president of the American Guild of Organists.
The CD includes performances by a 400-voice festival choir composed of choirs from universities and churches around the Springfield area, including the Evangel University Chorus, Concert Choir and Chorale, the Boys Choir of Springfield and the Evangel University Brass Ensemble.
