Springfield, Mo — Chip Stanek, assistant professor of communication, presented a paper titled “Theory Creation in Narrative: A Rhetorical Criticism of David Lynch” at a seminar held March 12-13, 2010, at the Los Angeles Film Studies Center in Calif.
The seminar was attended by film studies professors from around the country.
In addition, Stanek was a panelist — commenting on the documentary film “Burma VJ” — during the City of the Angels Film Festival held at the Directors Guild of America.
Stanek attended the film festival with Dr. Cameron Pace, Evangel Communication Department chair, and the following Evangel students:

• Elisabeth “Lisa” Prevost, Madrid, Spain, junior film major

Stanek has been a member of Evangel’s Communication Department faculty since 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Evangel University, a Master of Arts from Southwest Missouri State University and is currently working toward a Doctor of Philosophy from Regent University.
