Springfield, Mo — Evangel University has announced the recipients of the 2010-2011 Founders Scholarships, the highest academic scholarships that the University awards. Two incoming freshmen will receive full-tuition scholarships, and 10 incoming freshmen will receive half-tuition scholarships.
Incoming freshmen are eligible to apply for the scholarships if they have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale and at least a 30 on their ACTs or a 1320 or more on their SAT 1 (critical reading and math).
As long as continuation criteria are maintained, the scholarships are renewable until the student completes his or her baccalaureate degree or reaches 150 credit hours, whichever comes first.
The following students will receive the 2010-2011 Founders Scholarships:
Kaylyn Hicks
Daughter of Gordon and Kerry Hicks of Owasso, Okla., is a graduate of Owasso High School and will major in biological chemistry.
Lindsey Jackson
Daughter of Brian and Carolyn Jackson of Lee’s Summit, Mo., is a graduate of Lee’s Summit West High School and will major in English.
Alyssa Amen
Daughter of David and Vicky Amen of Omaha, Neb., is a graduate of Millard North High School; she has not yet declared a major.
Shimar Clements
Daughter of Joseph and Joyce Clements of Marietta, Ga., is a graduate of Marietta High School and will major in social work.
Joel Facer
Son of Dennis and Sara Facer of Bowling Green, Ohio, is a graduate of Ohio Virtual Academy and will major in computer science.
Kyle Fulghum
Son of David and Bonnie Fulghum of Alexandria, Minn., is a graduate of Jefferson Senior High School and will major in pre-pharmacy.
Andrew Grumke
Son of Curtis and Pam Grumke of Blue Springs, Mo., is a graduate of Blue Springs South High School and will double major in marketing and digital arts.

Daughter of Howard and Melanie Malone of Waynesville, Mo., is a graduate of Waynesville High School and will major in church music.
Lauren McCreight
Daughter of James and Linda McCreight of Springfield, Mo., is a graduate of Kickapoo High School and will major in pre-law.

Daughter of Andrew and Karen Morris of Springdale, Ark., is a graduate of Shiloh Christian High School and will major in health care (nursing).
