Overcoming financial issues was at the forefront of Terence’s mind four years ago as his desire to attend Evangel University developed. He now sees how God’s faithfulness permeated his situation and provided for his every need. Terence is currently a member of Concert Choir and is passionately involved in his chapel worship team. He is thankful to have the opportunity to learn and listen to God’s call on his life as he pursues his passions at Evangel University.
I felt like God was calling me here, and I really liked the Christian education as well as the supportive people here.
Yes. Financial situations were an issue at the beginning. I didn’t think I would be able to come, yet here I am four years later. God is faithful! Some other personal obstacles were the faith factor and learning how to listen to God. Being raised in Long Island, New York, I lived a fast-paced life of constant going, wanting and asking instead of listening. Through my experience at Evangel, God has taught me to listen and to trust His Word.
Yes!
My mom always encouraged me to pursue my passion above any other factor.
The relationships I build with the people around me and the support they give me to hold strong to the faith
My academic program is preparing me to understand the technical side of music industry as well as the basics of music. It is also allowing me to be creative and add my own spices to the mix, while giving God the Glory.
Every time I get a chance to be an instrument for the Lord in leading chapel worship, it amazes me how He always shows up and show himself strong. It’s also amazing how, though I am up there leading others to worship, the student body leads me into worship and inspires me beyond words. In Concert Choir we travel to different states and different churches, and we get to worship with people who desire to magnify the Lord. This passion we witness inspires me every time I experience it. We also get to stay with people from each church, building relationships that last forever; these people are complete strangers when we set foot in the church and are friends when step back on the bus — crazy! The bonding time with the other Concert Choir members has changed my life forever.
I would like to get involved in a church’s worship program, build my own recording studio, tour and lead worship, and be everything I can be through God’s strength for those I care for so very much.
Evangel is a great place to develop, strengthen, and stretch yourself while earning an education and building an everlasting relationship with great people who support you.
