A member of Evangel University’s Forensics Team, Elise recently traveled to Berlin, Germany, to compete in the 20th annual International Forensics Association Tournament. She is thankful for all the opportunities she has encountered as an Evangel student. Elise is majoring in Communications, and she is excited to see where that career path will lead her.
I wanted to be surrounded by people striving to grow spiritually, while receiving a quality education.
I visited Evangel once before becoming a student. When I visited campus, I knew Evangel was the place for me. Everyone I met, whether a student, a professor, or other faculty member, was so kind. I noticed Evangel’s positive atmosphere right away, and I had such a peace about becoming a student after visiting.
I overcame many financial obstacles, and Evangel showed a great willingness to help me overcome these obstacles. Evangel has always been great in providing me with scholarship opportunities, and the staff in Student Financial Services has always helped me explore all of my options when it comes to paying tuition.
I’ve received financial aid every year I’ve attended Evangel.
I decided to study Communication because it offers so many different types of classes. I also chose this area of study because it is a very hands-on and project oriented field, which I love!
When you attend a smaller university you are more than a number. I am so grateful that my professors know each of their students by name, and are willing to invest in our lives, educationally and spiritually.
What I like most about Evangel is how I’m not just gaining knowledge about my future career, but I’m discovering who I am in God more and more everyday through the spiritual aspect of the campus that is so evident.
Evangel’s Communication program requires its students to take classes that consist of hands-on activities. In this program I have learned how to create Web sites, write for various types of media, and construct advertising campaigns. In this program you don’t just learn by taking notes from a power point, you learn by doing.
Not only does Evangel's Communication program offer countless ways to get involved, but I have learned how to bring glory to God through my involvement. Being encouraged by your professors and classmates to incorporate God into my craft is something unique to Evangel.
Probably the biggest and most recent opportunity I’ve encountered is the chance to travel to Berlin, Germany for spring break. I am a member of the Evangel forensics team and was able to compete in the International Forensics Tournament this year.
A prospective student should consider Evangel because Evangel has so much to offer. Evangel offers a wonderful education no matter what major you choose. Evangel provides experiences that helps shape you and helps you grow educationally, socially, and spiritually. Evangel is a genuine place filled with genuine and encouraging people who are refreshing to be around. I am so grateful God has called me to such an amazing place.
