Mabee Student Fitness CenterVirtual Tour - Mabee Student Fitness Center

Evangel University's $2.5 million student fitness center opened for student use on August 26, 1999 - the first day of classes for the fall semester. Dedication services were held October 1, during Homecoming '99 festivities.

Evangel's board of directors chose to name the center in honor of the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation of Tulsa. The foundation gave $450,000 toward this project, following a grant of $850,000 toward construction of the academic building in 1995.

The 28,000 sq. ft. fitness center includes two basketball courts, an indoor running track, two racquetball courts, an aerobics room, locker rooms and a mezzanine exercise area with professional fitness equipment. It is attached to the north end of the J. Robert Ashcroft Activities Center.
