
Donovan Nelson, assistant professor of kinesiology, graduated from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, in 1998 and received a master of education in sports administration in 2003 from Wichita State University. Over the course of his career, he has been an educator and coach at the secondary level, an assistant principal/athletic director, a college instructor and head softball coach and a graduate assistant. “Throughout all of this, the greatest enjoyment comes from working with young people, ensuring them they can be successful, then watching them step out on their own to realize their own capabilities,” Nelson says. “I believe in empowering a student, and I have worked to do that through my teaching career.” Read Profile»

Bernie DanaPrior to joining the Evangel University faculty in 2001, Bernie Dana served as the executive vice president of Vetter Health Services, Inc. (VHS) based in Omaha, Nebraska. He was also the corporate secretary and member of the board of directors of Vetter Holding, Inc., and its 33 subsidiary corporations. He served as the secretary and member of the board of directors for The Vetter Foundation, a charitable organization for support of Christian ministries and quality training in long-term care. Rebecca RhoadesRebecca Rhoades, associate professor of accounting, is responsible for teaching and advising Evangel’s accounting majors. Rhoades is a 1974 Evangel graduate with an MBA from Oral Roberts University. In addition to teaching at Evangel, Rhoades and her husband Mark serve as the National Administrative Couple of Assemblies of God Marriage Encounter. They attend Evangel Temple Assembly of God in Springfield, where they also help facilitate a class for parents of young children, “Parental Guidance.” She has three children, John Mark, who is studying art and French at Evangel; Anne Marie, who works as a legislative assistant in Jefferson City, Missouri; and Katherine, who is a graduate student at the University of Cape Town. Nancy Pace-MillerNancy Pace-Miller is a 1984 graduate of Evangel. A proud "OKIE," she came from Oklahoma to Missouri to attend Evangel and never left. She has worked in the field of advertising and public relations for 30 years and began teaching at Evangel in 1989 as an adjunct instructor. Dr. Bryan SandersDr. Bryan Sanders, a 1982 graduate of Evangel, is chairman of the Department of Social Sciences. He is a man of integrity and passion to see his students succeed. Elizabeth FletcherElizabeth Fletcher comes from a long line of Evangel graduates, including her husband, brother, two sisters-in-law, her nephew, her niece and her three daughters. Dr. Keith HardyOriginally from Tallahassee, Fla., Dr. Keith Hardy joined the Evangel faculty in 2000. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Arkansas in 2006 and has been chair of the Kinesiology Department at Evangel since 2007. Dr. Hardy has led Evangel’s United Way Campaign during the past two years and has also participated in the University Alliance Program with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Marine Corps Officer School Educators Workshop at Quantico, Va. Dr. Cameron PaceDr. Cameron Pace has been working in media for more than 30 years and has taught almost every electronic media course that Evangel has offered at some point in his 20-year career as an Evangel professor. He serves as the faculty advisor for ECTV and EU FILMS, and is the faculty supervisor of the TV studio. Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dr. Pace attended Evangel from 1978 to 1982. Dr. Colleen HardyDr. Colleen Hardy graduated from Evangel University in 1985 and went on to teach elementary school in the Willard (Missouri) School District for 15 years. In addition to being a classroom teacher, Dr. Hardy worked with the state Department of Education, writing standardized tests and participating in the training and professional development for teachers in 91 school districts in Southwest Missouri as a STARR Teacher (Select Teachers As Regional Resources). Donna WashburnDonna Washburn is a 1998 graduate of Evangel University's Social Work program. She earned her Master's in Social Work from Missouri State University. Her career as a licensed clinical social worker has involved working in various mental health settings. While working as a therapist for the Boys and Girls Town of Missouri, she discovered that she especially enjoyed providing inservice training for other staff. That experience eventually led her to an adjunct teaching position at Evangel in 2000. She also became coordinator of EU's evening Human Services Program. Dr. Michael KolstadDr. Michael Kolstad is chairman of the Music Department and professor of low brass at Evangel University. A 1988 graduate of Evangel, Kolstad earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in trombone performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
