FRESHMEN APPLICANTS
Applicants to Evangel University who earn less than 15 college credits after high school graduation prior to enrolling at EU are considered freshmen for admission and scholarship purposes. Here are the standards for full admission to the university.
Traditional Admission
Requirements for full admission include a 2.5 cumulative GPA and 20 ACT, 1030 SAT (ERW-Evidence-based Reading and Writing plus Math), or a 66 CLT (Classic Learning Test).
When registering for the ACT, CLT, or SAT, please remember to send us your test results. The codes for Evangel are as follows:
- ACT: 2296 (act.org)
- SAT: 6198 (collegeboard.org)
- CLT – Classic Learning Test (cltexam.com)
Test Optional Admission
Students applying as test optional will be evaluated on the basis of their application and high school transcript. A minimum 2.5 high school GPA is required for consideration.
To apply test optional, mark the test optional box on the application. Upon admission to the university, the student’s decision to apply test optional or to apply through traditional admission is binding. Evangel’s test optional policy does not replace NAIA Athletic eligibility requirements. Athletes should check with their coach for NAIA specific qualifications.
Probational Admissions
Students not meeting the full admission criteria listed above can be considered for probational or limited load admissions. Contact the Office of Admissions at 800.EVANGEL or admissions@evangel.edu for more information.
Online Applicants
Students applying for online undergraduate degree programs who have been out of high school five years or more are exempt from entrance exam requirements and are considered for admission on the strength of their prior academic performance. Individuals who apply in the five years following high school graduation may apply under traditional or test optional admission.
Home School Applicants
Home school applicants are considered for admission utilizing the same criteria as any other student.
International Applicants
For non-U.S. citizens where English is not the first language, a TOEFL score of 70 or IELTS score of 6.5 is required. Visit the International Student pages for additional requirements.
TRANSFER APPLICANTS
When you have earned 15 or more college credits (non-remedial) after high school graduation, you will be evaluated for admission based primarily on your college performance. For admission’s consideration, a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required. Transfer credit may be granted for most standard university courses with a “C” or higher. For more specific information, visit our transfer evaluation section.
